The Home Sweet Home is a 17th Century Traditional Country Pub with open fires, rustic wooden floors and exposed stone walls. The pub is set deep in the heart of South Oxfordshire in the hamlet of Roke, near Wallingford.
The Home Sweet Home has a truly welcoming atmosphere and cosy interior. We make every effort to ensure our traditional cask ales are kept to the highest standards, our wines are interesting and varied and our food is to the highest of standards, always fresh and and locally sourced as possible.
At the Home Sweet Home we pride ourselves in supporting the Armed Forces, NHS, Police and Fire Service by offering a 15% discount on meals.
We pride ourselves on using the best local suppliers for all of our food and prepare as much of the products we sell in house. This way we can guarantee the food you are served is always to the highest possible standards.
The Head chef and Owner at the Home Sweet Home, Dom, has been working here for over eight years and comes from a background in British quinine with solid formal classical training and was the previous Home Sweet Home Head Chef. Dom is obsessed with details and constantly striving for continued improvement.
Our Sous Chef Dan, who has worked with Dom for over 15 years. He is also formally classically trained and has experience working with some of the countries best chefs. Dan is always trying new ideas and pushing his own skill set.

First and foremost the Home Sweet Home is a pub, so take pleasure and pride in ensuring all of our drinks are served to you in the best possible way. We are going to great lengths to make sure everything from our cellar to our glassware is kept in the best condition so you can get the most enjoyment from your drinks.
Our brewery, Wadworth, based in Devises, Wiltshire are a one of the few family brewers left in the UK. Wadworth take great pride in offering a fine selection of traditionally crafted cask conditioned ales and the provide the Home Sweet Home with the best training and equipment to be certain you get your ale in the best condition.
Our current casks conditioned traditional Ales:
Henry’s IPA, with an ABV of 3.6% it’s a light bronze ale with delicate malt aromas it is an easy drinking session ale with cereal notes and a lingering finish; just perfect.
6X, with an ABV of 4.1%. the jewel in Wadworth’s crown. Our most popular beer, the one which made us famous, and the beer that has won numerous medals in a variety of awards. It has been in production for nearly 100 years and we still use the original recipe.
Horizon, with an ABV of 4.0%. Horizon is a great beer for those new to ale. The golden ale is packed with 100% pale ale malt and a blend of classic and New World hops. It offers zesty, citrus and hop aromas and a crisp, tangy finish on the palate.
